The psalm moves honestly from 'how long?' to trust in God's mercy.

Faith, hope, and charity remain; charity is the greatest.
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Contentment rests on God's promise: He will never leave nor forsake His people.
