A threshold pattern — standing awake between what was and what is coming.
In Scripture
Eleven sits between twelve's fullness and its breaking — the eleven disciples watching between the cross and Pentecost. It is the number of the vigil.
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
"Watch therefore" — the wise virgins kept their lamps trimmed.
“And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?”
The eleventh hour — God still hires when the day feels spent.
“(There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea.)”
Eleven days' journey — the distance between promise and entering in.
